Water dates (Dates involving water, swimming, and getting wet)
Despite being a dessert community, southern Utah has access to many, lakes, ponds, rivers & streams which can be a great way to have fun. The summer months can get pretty warm and cooling down in the water can be a great way to have fun, enjoy the day and soak up the sun. Here is a list of our top water fun dates & locations.
1. Go to the Lake
2. Swim or play in Ivins reservoir. A great way to avoid those dang park fee’s. (Tell me more)
3. Go to the swimming pool.
4. Go to Dessert Spring or little Jamaica. (A great way to enjoy the water without having to pay for a swimming pool)
5. Go on a water hike: Red Cliffs, Kanarraville Falls, Taylor Creek, Zion’s Narrows are all good hikes with streams to be near and play in the water.
6. Go fishing or to a duck pond. A great way to enjoy and be by the water without having to get wet is going fishing. In addition to Enterprise, Gun Lock, Sand Hollow, Quail. Other good fishing spots are Baker, Sandcove. There are also lot’s of urban fishing ponds in the area and if you don’t want to fish you can feed the ducks at a duck pond.
7. The Virgin River: The Virgin River has become a popular place for skim boarding, floating and cooling down in the summer sun. Skim boarding has become a popular thing to do in Southern Utah and the Virgin River is the perfect place. Tubing down the river can also be done in the Virgin River and there are a few places in Springdale near Zion National park that rent tubes and will drive you up the river in a shuttle. For the most part the Virgin River is only a few inches deep but there are a few places where you can swim in the water as well.
8. Splash Pad Parks: Splash pad parks are gaining popularity in the area. Splash pads can be a great way to have fun and cool down. Some of the most popular locations for splash pads are. (click link to find out more)

9. Play some water games like
Water Balloon Volleyball: With a partner hold a towel stretched between you two, put a water balloon on the towel. With several other couples take turns throwing and catching the water balloon over the volleyball net using only your towels.
Make a Water Slide: Get a tarp, a hose and a soft grassy area, add some dish soap so it has some bubbles and you have yourself a fun slip and slide. So much fun.
Squirt guns: Playing with squirt guns and water balloons is almost a form of flirtation. Its a good way to get them in the habit of chasing after you. It can be a blast, nothing will make them smile like seeing you get soaked by their water weapon of choice.
10. Go on a water Adventure: Go Scuba diving, snorkeling, Kayaking, boating, jet skiing or FLYBOARDING
